Find out how to catch him on #FunnyMoneyRock
New York Rapper Shorty Roc will make Icon City history as a guest of the inaugural episode of #FunnyMoneyRockLive a new platform for social media
Even in a world where more and more mainstream artists flirt with gay identities, there's still a stigma around the marketability of content that specifically reflects the experience of urban queer people across the country.
#FunnyMoneyRock continues in the legacy of other queer content platforms like DJ Baker's "Doo Dirty Show" as well as the now-defunct outhiphop.com to connect unapologetically gay hip-hop and r&b artists with the audience that wants it.
Shorty Roc will be joining to talk about his latest single "One Night Only" and how he's dealing with living in a COVID 19 hotspot.
#FunnyMoneyRockLive airs on FunnyMoneyRock.com and Youtube weekly on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. Eastern 6 p.m. Pacific.
Meet Shorty Roc: The Gay DJ Khaled?
All your favorite gay-lebrities just got on one album. Shorty Roc's AllStars project is (out today) truly lives up to its name. Featuring every one from award-winning comedian Sampson McCormick to Icon City's very own Anye Elite.
Although we've made a lot of progress when it comes to curbing homophobia in the black community there is still a lot to do. New York based Shorty Roc's project couldn't come at a better time. Scandals surrounding some black celebrities' insensitivity towards the LGBT community have increased. The display of unity that is the Allstars project is a fresh counter-narrative. Our favorites track so far are Curve, Boss Moves and the swanky R&B infused Shoot (feat Kin 4 Life & Butterfly).
The album is available on all streaming services. We want to see more posse tracks Inclusive hip hop stand up!
